Looking out the window this weekend, we were not sure what month it was (and after our last predication of snow in April, we're surprised how slack we can be). So we decided to untangle our confuzzled mindboxes with some smooth jazz vocal cuts for this week's picks. Ella Fitzgerald was highest on the list. Hearing her again reminds us of how her influence still lives in the cuts of today's RnB stars. Smoooooth.

It seems that when he's not busying remixing megastar's hit singles (Elvis, Britney, Madonna/Justin, Scissor Sisters) or creating music for video games and films, Tom Holkenborg (better known as Junkie XL) finds time in his 14 hour days to work on his own solo projects. Booming Back At You is the latest such electropop masterpiece from the talented Dutchman, and is packed with amazing tracks like Cities in Dust, You Make Me Feel So Good and More.

Packed with influences like Chas and Dave, The Jam and The Style Council, and Quadrophenia, it's also a bluesy affair, with Hanshaw making no secret of his London leanings.
