Goodnight Luci
The big man has left the building. We were so saddened to see Pavarotti give his final bow last week that cranked up Nessun Dorma in the Wippit Office and stood a silent tribute. And we never do that. Then someone pointed out that we also had a Karaoke version and the silence was broken. And how we sang. The last time there was this much noise was when we whooped in celebration at The Ladies' Bras making the record books as the shortest song ever to chart.
If you're a Wippit subscriber, check out the podcast where we air a few of our favourites. If you're not and want to find out what we have, we've even got an iTunes link for it here (I never thought I'd see the 'i' word in a Wippit Newsletter!).
Download of the Month - Andy Lewis & Paul Weller
You know what it's like - you're a fan of the man, and suddenly you hear
Paul Weller's got your records and he's a fan of yours too ... then he decided to write and record a song with you. With the Modfather's trademark vocals,
Are You Trying To Be Lonely? is a stomping, soulful pop song which we just can't turn off. So we haven't! Get the new single
Andy Lewis & Paul Weller here (Wippit Subscribers get it free of course).
Pacha Experience 2
The end of summer is traditionally a time when we look back at the weeks that went before, then rush out and buy some tunes to relive those warm evenings and long, long nights. If you were anywhere in the Med, then you had a Pacha Experience, and now can have it forever. With tracks from Bob Sinclar, Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. Si Paul and Jack Rokka vs Betty Boo those sunny memories will stay sweet forever.
The Lancashire Hotpots competition!

To celebrate the release of the new single from the Lancashire Hotpots' amazing album
Never Mind The Hotpots, we've got a Lancashire Hotpots mug & box of genuine Lancashire teabags, as well as a tshirt to give away. To win, just
tell us the type of dogs normally associated with Lancashire before Wednesday 19th September 2007, and the first
Wippit subscriber's name out of our special 'Wippit competition hat' will be the envy of their friends.
BBC Comedy
Like laughing? Auntie has allowed us to slash prices on a load of classic comedy, but only until the end of the week; so now's your chance. There's complete Radio Series of Little Britain (Series 1 and Series 2). There's also the now-legendary Mighty Boosh and classic shows from Mitchell And Webb too.
If these kids just don't get what's funny though, we've got the legend that is Mr Tony Hancock and his legendary Half Hour (although it's all of the best bits, so it's more like Hancock for 2 hours) and Hancock - A Comedy Genius too. Go get them before they go.
The Polyphonic Spree
The hooded cult (led by delightfully named Tim Delaughter) return with a
new album which is quite frankly life-affirmingly brilliant. Resplendent with a full orchestral complement, this opus contains so many gems it's hard to know what our favourite track is (but lead single
Running Away really is incredible). Of course, if you're a Wippit subscriber
The Fragile Army is available to you at absolutely no extra cost whatsoever - lovely.
Fightstar
Here's a tune from former Busted-frontman (sorry, we couldn't resist) Charlie's latest band,
Fightstar. A departure from the choreographed punkpop of his previous band, this tune is a sincere ode to "
standing up for what you believe in without compromise" from the post-hardcore quartet. Rawking.
